There are several PCIT code-the-coach systems currently in development.  In this video, Dr. Beverly Funderburk from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center provides an overview for one of these coding systems, the Observational Assessment of Coaching Highlights (COACH) coding system.  Dr. Funderburk describes the clinical and supervisory situations during which the COACH coding system can best be used. During this video she also outlines how the system might be used to inform good CDI coaching development for both novice and experienced PCIT therapists. More specifically, this video provides information related to important gateway coaching skills as well as a full description of higher order therapist coaching statements that can be used in PCIT.
